- Bleed
- Colums
- Margins
- Width and height
- If we need facing pages
- How many pages we need
For this brief we set a width of 190mm and height of 237mm
Becasue the 2 pages didnt appear next to each other i had to add another page, which is done by pressing create new page at the bottom of this box.
As with everything i gave the document a 3mm bleed.
Another way of creating a double page spread was creating 2 pages and then deselecting allow document pages to shuffle, this then allows me to move my page around and place it next to the other.
For the breif we were asked to create a double page layout for a animal we were given, mine was a lemur, i firstly just experimented with shapes i could use and ways of editing the text.
After looking at some of my thumbnail designs i decided that having a large picture on the left page would be effective, but when it came to putting the type on top of it the black type wasn't visible, so i thought having some of it white and then as it goes across the page it turns black it would be effective. As shown below.
I also created these little lemurs for the page, the silhouettes gave something different to the page and aren't just standard boring pictures.
I then inserted place holder text so i could see what the type would look like in that place. After this the general layout had been created.
After a few tweaks, minor touches and writing the content i finished the layout.
