Design for web, coding after crit

Changing the index page

After the design for web crit there was a few things i had to change. A lot of people said i should make the the index page more eye catching and change the type so it was more 'middle earthy'.

To begin with i had Helvetica which i believe they were right wasn't quite suited to the correct subject matter, so i changed the type from a sans serif to a serif typeface, so i choose Georgia. I also changed the colour of the type so it in with the navigation bar.

I then changed the image that was on the index page because it wasn't bold enough and didn't stand out enough.  So what i have done is make the ring more like a ring, bolder and have the type the same because i feel that works well.

Final index page

I feel the index page is now bolder and will capture the viewers eye keeping them on the page, to explore, the type below is again more eye catching and is larger, i have also corrected spelling mistakes and changed it to a more 'middle earthy' typeface.

Making the illustrations more detailed and changing the typeface behind them.

I made the type smaller and changed it to something more suited to The Lord of The Rings, i also made it green so there wasn't a lot of black and white on the page and so it was again suited to Lord of The Rings.

I then took on some other feedback and changed the layout on different pages, so below the infogrpahics are different shapes this then makes the pages more interesting that just the same layout.

I again changed the colour size and what font the typeface was on these infogrpahics.
